How To Improve Your Amazon Business Week On Week

A client asked me how to improve his business week on week and my simple solution was to have regular workshop rhythms in his business.
What happens when you don’t have regular rhythms inside your business?
1. There will be no accountability – There doesn’t seem to be much traction or momentum when you set a task to one of your team members. It seems that it takes forever for a task to get done.
2. There is no real team morale – There is no real team buy-in which can happen if you have a virtual team.
What we did? We started to implement regular weekly workshop rhythms on different processes in different areas of the business. If you look up another video on our blog and on our Facebook page, you’ll see that there is a downloadable sheet which gives you the entire product launch system from finding opportunity all the way to launching it. In this example, we would have a regular weekly meeting following this process:
1. Jump in a Call – Everybody, who touches that process, all the stakeholders, will jump on a call and go to the simple process of checking in what really happens since the last call.
2. Check the KPI’s – Seeing what their KPI’s are saying – Are we moving towards the direction that we should be going? This really highlights and brings to front everything which is really not working.
3. Download all Challenges – Download all the challenges that everybody is having. It is like brainstorming, where everybody throws in what they are struggling with.
4. Prioritise and decide on the few key things – Best to then focus on one thing that needs to be fixed and worked on instead of taking all the stuff to improve each and every week.
5. Identify the team member that need to action the task and do it – If the new way of doing things is better than the old way then that becomes a formalized procedure or becomes the system in the company which is then used as training manual to do things the new way.
There you have it! A simple way on how you can improve your business week-on-week with a simple regular workshop rhythm. Just 45 minutes, all your team members jump in. It really helps build team morale. It helps everybody have buy in, especially with a virtual team. It really creates an amazing culture where people can be actually empowered to step up, speak their mind and chip-in to help the business improve overtime.
